Recently at the Wildlife Center

Saddle-billed storks are one of the most striking birds you’ll ever see!

With their boldly-colored bill (complete with that iconic “saddle”), towering height, and massive wingspan, they’re hard to miss and even harder to forget.

Native to sub-Saharan Africa, these wading birds spend their time in wetlands hunting fish, frogs, and other small prey. Despite their size, they’re typically quiet birds - you won’t hear calls, but you will hear bill-clattering, especially around the nest.

Keep an eye out…you might just catch ours showing off some natural behaviors!

Capybara Encounters are officially underway!

Diego has been doing incredible - he’s settled in beautifully and has made it very clear that he loves social time, snacks, and plenty of scratches. He’s picked up on his training quickly and has been doing great meeting guests.
